Educational Opportunities
Understanding working dogs and their relationships with their owners can provide a powerful insight into sled dogs. We at Race to the Sky embrace the opportunity to show civic groups as well as schools the humane and very special care these dog athletes receive. Contact us if you would like more information regarding our educational opportunities.

Educational Book Available

A classroom curriculum on teamwork for schools is available. This educational book is available for $10 to anyone wishing to teach teamwork and learn more about Race to the Sky and mushing in general. The book includes educational activities, articles on the Race to the Sky, writing assignments, math and science problems, crossword puzzles, connect the dog, and bibliographies–all about Race to the Sky, teamwork, and mushing.

Educational Trunk Available to Schools

An educational trunk with hands-on information about the Race to the Sky, a miniature sled, booties, gang-line, videos, snow hook, musher hat and other items meant to be handled by students is also available to schools for the cost of mailing.

Volunteers Needed. - We are looking for someone that would like to help get the trunk to schools in Helena. If you have a phone and a porch to store it, the teachers come to your house and pick it up. It’s easy and so rewarding. If you can help, please contact us at info (at) racetothesky.org
